We’re excited to be opening our very first 7 For All Mankind store in Gent this week! To mark the occasion, we’re sharing some of the Flemish city’s best-kept secrets. With medieval architecture and picturesque canals, Gent is a hidden gem, and a perfect option if you’re looking for something a little different to the usual tourist destinations.

If you enjoy some window-shopping, Gent’s main shopping street is the Veldstraat, but for a more unusual shopping trip, walk along Mageleinstraat, Kalandestraat and Koestraat, Chocolaterie Van Kecke at Koestraat 42 is a family-run chocolatier that’s been going strong since 1937. Their homemade chocolate cake is delicious and will leave you wanting more!

To sample some of Belgium’s classic culinary fare head down to Establissement Max. The restaurant started life as a mobile stall at fairs and has grown to become one of the city’s most popular eateries. Steeped in elegance and tradition, the waffles are still baked with the family’s 12o-year-old waffle irons!

The city at its liveliest is during the Gentse Feetsen in late July, the annual music and theatre festival. One of the biggest and most popular cultural festivals in Europe, is lasts for ten days and attracts around 2 million visitors every year. There are a variety of attractions on offer, ranging from comedy and music to sport.

To welcome our Belgian fans to their new store, we’re hosting a fabulous launch party on Thursday 23^rd February. With champagne, canapés, music and a chance to explore the new SS12 collection, it’s the perfect excuse to come down and enjoy yourself. The party starts in the new 7 For All Mankind store at Brabantdam 11, and continues into the early hours at the Café Theatre Schouwburgstraat 5-7. We can’t wait to see you there!

We love this outfit from Belgian blogger Sofie – such a perfect combination for an autumn day! Our Skinny Gummy in Snake Print gives a real rock and roll edge, and looks gorgeous against this faux fur jacket. Add some edgy ankle boots and an oversize bag, and you’re ready to face whatever Fall can throw at you!
