With all this glorious sunshine that’s been working it’s way across Europe this week, we can safely say that summertime is officially here! We’re ready to soak up some rays in our new collection of fabulous 7 For All Mankind denim shorts and skirts – here’s some top tips to help you get those pins in shape and looking gorgeous so you can strut your way into the sunset in style!

1: Tone

Whip those lovely legs into shape with some simple exercises to tone and shape your calves and thighs – check out this easy routine from trainer Mark Anthony at Marie Claire that you can do at home. If you don’t have time for exercise, try making little changes like taking the stairs instead of the lift or getting off the bus a stop earlier and walking the rest of the way – in time you’ll be looking and feeling fabulous!

2: Exfoliate

The key to sumptuous skin is getting rid of all those old, dead skin cells by exfoliating regularly. Scrub your legs gently once a week to reveal fresh, healthy, glowing skin!

3: Defuzz

There are plenty of options for getting fuzz-free legs, all with their own pros and cons – which one your choose comes down to personal preference! If you’re looking for a fast and cheap solution, then shaving is your best bet. Make sure you change your razor regularly and use one designed for ladies for the best results. For a longer term solution, try waxing – there’s a bit of pain involved but the results can last a few weeks, so it’s a good choice if you’re heading off on holiday.

4: Moisturise

After you’ve scrubbed and toned your legs into shape, it’s time to give them a treat! Moisturise regularly to prevent dry skin and keep your legs looking lovely – try a tinted moisturiser with a hint of fake tan for a subtle wash of colour. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water too!

5: Strut!

Those little glimpses of sunshine are teasing us into getting excited about Summer! It’s the perfect party season to celebrate with all your nearest and dearest, and there’s nothing better than some statement denim to get you in the glamorous party mood! We’ve been inspired by our fabulous new Garden Party print to give you a few tips on how to throw the perfect Summer soiree in true 7 For All Mankind style…

First off, it’s all about the setting – location, location, location as they say…! If you don’t have a fabulous garden space to play with, or if the weather lets you down, bring the outside indoors with artificial flowers, fairy lights and cute candle holders. Create your own little wonderland with printed cushions and throws, and hey – who’s to stop you throwing a picnic rug down in the front room?!

Once your secret garden is all ready to go, it’s time to set the mood with a killer playlist. Compile a list of you and your friends favourite tracks, and think about the order too – start off with some stylish, mellow tones in the background so you can mingle to the max, then gradually up the ante (and the volume!) so your guests can start to let their hair down and dance!

All that socialising is thirsty work, so make sure you have some fabulous drinks on offer to refresh your guests. Something quick and easy works best, like a summer fruit punch – we love this recipe by Julie Goodwin, which features strawberries, mint and pink Moscato. Up the glamour factor with some elegant martini glasses and sparkly glass charms.

We’ve long been big fans of Jen from The Style Crusader’s chic, elegant style and so we were thrilled when she agreed to write a post about the latest trends to arrive on site from our SS12 collection – neon and floral denim! Here’s what she had to say…

There’s nothing I love to wear more than a pair of skinny jeans. They go with just about everything and are so easy to wear. I love that this season they’ve gotten an update with bright colours and floral prints. Why wear blue denim when there are so many other great options? It’s the easiest way to update your look for the new season.

I styled the 7 For All Mankind Skinny Garden Party jeans with a pink polka dot top by Muriee and an easy black biker jacket from Madewell. To give the look a bit of a tailored feel I decided to wear a pair of classic black heels from Zara – I’d equally love to wear these jeans with Converse though.

The awesome thing about statement trousers is that they act as the centre of attention for your entire outfit. They are bold without trying too hard and work just as well during the day as they do in the evening.

Try the Gwenevere in Hot Neon Pink with a loose white T-shirt, big dangly earrings and flat sandals during the day, or go for the Skinny in Kauai Floral Print and wear them with a crisp white shirt and blazer for a dinner date. They’re great for taking to the beach but also work perfectly when paired with a chunky sweater for when the weather isn’t too great.

The thing I love about these trousers? They offer an immediate burst of happiness. How can you not have a great day when your legs are acid bright or covered in ditzy flowers!
