With Coachella kicking off in California this week, we’re couldn’t be more excited that Summer is merely around the corner! If you’re anything like us you’ll be feeling the festival itch, planning to frolic in a sunny field with friends and a several thousand other strangers…! If that’s you, then here’s our recommendations for the best musical line-ups and our favourite European festivals you won’t want to miss in 2012.
Secret Garden Party, UK
Cambridgeshire, in the UK, hosts the infamous Secret Garden Party – a four day garden-party-gone-crazy. As well as music there’s activities for kids and adults alike and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and magical festivals in existence. Overflowing with creativity, colour and mystery this giant playground encourages silly behaviour, rather than frowns upon it…!
Main Square Festival, France
The Main Square Festival takes place in Arras, France. Since 2010, the festival has settled in the heart of a huge park located near the town centre, creating nothing less than a magnificent atmosphere. Combined with an impressive line-up of worldwide artists and two unique stages this festival ticks all the right boxes and more.
Rock Am Ring, Germany
Rock am Ring is one of the largest and the most popular festivals in Germany, with more than 80,000 people in attendance. With 80 international acts appearing at the world famous Nürburgring racetrack you can be well assured that if it’s a Rock, Metal, Punk, Indie or Alternative rock band you want to see, they’ll be there!
Dance Valley, Netherlands
Dance Valley, alternatively known as ‘The Woodstock of Dance’ is an annual dance music festival held in Spaarnwoude, Netherlands. Over the years its seen many famous DJ sets, with big names such as Tiesto and Paul van Dyk. While its known for being a pure dance-music event they cater to a wide audience which is why it has become the #1 open air festival in the Netherlands!
Heineken Jammin’ Festival, Italy
In Italy, the Heineken Jammin’ Festival was first festival of its kind and is, arguably, still the best! It takes place in Milan this year and has boasted headliners such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M and Depeche Mode. Whether it’s the music, the chilling out, or the camping, every year nearly 140,000 people enjoy this great event. We’ve got our ticket – do you?
