How to wear denim in summer

Earlier this year three of our favourite fashion bloggers – Anni from Fashion Hippie Loves, Jana from Bekleidet and Masha Sedgwick - went on a road trip to California, taking in Coachella festival and exploring the Golden State's vast deserts.

California is, of course, famous for its amazing weather and year-round sunshine. But how do you keep wearing your favourite 7 For All Mankind denim looks when it's hot so outside? Anni, Jana and Masha show us how to beat the heat in style:

White jeans are a summer staple — they're lighter and attract less heat than darker denims, yet are still very versatile. Anni styled up her distressed pair with sandals and a simple top. Layering with our light indigo denim shirt will complete your look and add an off-duty edge.

Skinny black jeans are a wardrobe favourite, and something we love to keep wearing whatever the weather. But how can you stay looking cool in your skinnies despite the heat? Take a tip from Jana and pick a pair with distressed detailing — this will let your knees breathe! — and in a lightweight fabric for extra comfort. Just add a simple tee and you're set for summer.

Of course, you can wear denim without wearing jeans. A denim mini skirt is a chic way to wear 7 For All Mankind and keep cool. Masha has chosen a classic blue denim mini and styled it with a classic white T-shirt. Accessories like a hat, plus a shirt tied around the waist will keep you covered for every eventuality.

A pair of cut-off shorts would also be a great alternative here, take a look at the full range of 7 For All Mankind shorts here.

Jana also picked a 7 For All Mankind mini skirt to wear on the California road trip. We love how she smartened this dark denim design up with our white silk blouse and simple jewellery.
