1. Start a long-term relationship…

Forget fleeting fashion trends, invest in timeless pieces that transcend seasons. Opt for a classic jacket in leather or suede — the ultimate wardrobe staple year after year. Try our cropped option in classic cognac that we guarantee will become your new best friend.

2. Go NAKED!

Be a bare-faced beauty in 2016 and pare down your regime to minimalist standards. Feel the benefits of going au natural at least one day a week (we're talking salt spray hair and sun kissed skin). If the thought fills you with dread, then keep it simple with a strong brow, nude lip and rosy cheek.

3. Watch more television…

Your parents always told you that it was bad for, but they were wrong. 2016 serves up a spectrum of great television, from unmissable one-off shows to series' that will keep you up until 4am. We're setting the recorder for Chelsea Does, The X Files and Marvel's Luke Cage.

4. Brush up on your geography…

Combine a trip of a lifetime with a niche festival (the more far-flung the better). Our picks include Mistura Food Festival in Peru or Cheung Chau Bun Festival in Hong Kon, where locals celebrate the birthday of Buddha, culminating with an annual ‘Bun Scrambling’ competition.

5. Learn to ride a bike…

Forget the usual tedium of post-Christmas workouts; try something unusual for the New Year. Be active and get fit with quirky exercise trends including Hydrospinning (underwater cycling), Bossaball and Lindy Hop classes.

6.  Go back to school…

Challenge yourself to learn something new. Whether it's a language, cooking class or even instrument, let 2016 be the year of knowledge. We're getting all bookish over the online fashion courses from the Business of Fashion!

7. Wear more Denim!

Don't limit your denim wardrobe to that much-loved pair of jeans, get creative and experiment with shirts, skirts and jumpsuits — yes, we're partial to a triple denim look.
