A fun and flirty manicure is one of our favourite ways to complement fabulous denim for summer! Spending some time on your nails is a really quick way to polish your look and give your outfit that finishing touch. We love this floral manicure and its vintage, feminine feel, and it’s really easy to do! Follow our step-by-step guide below to get your own flower power vibe…

Step 1:

Prepare your nails by cleaning off any old polish with some remover and gently filing any rough edges. Apply a base coat to smooth your nails and stop any colour staining.

Step 2:

Apply two thin coats of a block colour – pastel pinks, yellows and blues work really well with this look. We’ve chosen a dusty pink colour. If your polish gets lumpy or sticky, try adding a few drops of remover and shake the bottle to thin it out a little, and it should apply more smoothly.

Step 3:

Using a contrasting colour like bright red or pink, add some flower shapes to your nail. Dab off any excess polish first and then dot the brush to create clusters of small circles – it doesn’t have to be perfect or neat!

Step 4:

Use a green polish to add leaves to some of the flowers. Again, dab off any excess varnish and dot gently.

Step 5:

To finish the flowers, take a yellow or gold polish and add a tiny dot in the centre of each one. Wait for everything to dry and then add a clear top coat to seal in your manicure and smooth over any lumps or bumps.
